Haryana H.C.S (Judicial)
Essential Qualifications:- No person is eligible to be appointed a Civil Judge (Junior Division) unless he holds a degree of Bachelor of Laws.
- Age: Candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 40 years.
Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for the Candidates belonging to certain categories.

Syllabus for Main Examination:
The Main Examination consists of six papers five written and a viva voce. The description of papers and the syllabus are as under:Paper-I Civil Law (200 Marks)
- Code of Civil procedure,
- Punjab Courts Act,
- Indian Contract Act,
- Indian partnership Act,
- Sale of Goods Act,
- Specific Relief Act,
- Indian Evidence Act and
- Haryana Urban (control of rent and eviction)Act, 1973.
Paper-II Civil Law-II (200 Marks)
- Hindu Law,
- Mohammadan Law and Customary Law,
- Law of Registration and Limitation.
Paper-III Criminal Law (200 Marks)
- Indian Penal Code,
- Criminal Procedure Code and
- Indian Evidence Act,
Paper-IV Criminal Law (200 Marks)
- English Essay (1000 to 1100 words) - 100 Marks
- Precis - 25 marks
- Words and Phrases (Make sentences of the given words and Phrases) - 25 marks
- Comprehension - 25 marks
- Corrections - 25 marks
Paper-V Language Hindi (in Devnagri Script) (200 Marks)
Paper-VI (200 Marks)
Viva-Voce to judge the personal qualities of the candidates. The viva-voce relates to the matters of general interest and is intended to test the candidates’ alertness, intelligence and general outlook. it is conducted in English.
